CLPM COVID-19 Vaccination Direction for Vendors
CLPM refers to the WA State Government’s Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination policy to protect WA and safeguard essential services and businesses for the long-term. CLPM appreciates that these are difficult times and emotionally charged encounters are possible. CLPM respects the views of individuals and does not seek to make unique rules or judgements specific to our workplace. We do however have an ethical obligation to protect all parties on our site to the best of our ability as well as a legal obligation to comply with the terms of the Mandate and we will therefore operate our sites and workplaces accordingly.
Please note that from 1st of January 2022 as detailed in the Mandate, a Vendor (includes consultants and subcontractors), employee of the vendor, third party subcontractor and employees of third-party subcontractors who has not received an initial dose of an approved Covid19 vaccination and who is without proof of a valid exemption is deemed to be unvaccinated. From the 1st of February 2022 such persons who have not received a second dose of an approved Covid19 Vaccination will additionally be deemed unvaccinated. Unvaccinated persons must be barred from accessing CLPM construction sites.
We also draw your attention to the fact that as an employer you are responsible for ensuring that your employees, third party subcontractors and their employees are vaccinated or exempt from vaccination before they present to site. There is a further obligation placed on your employees and third-party employees in terms of requiring them to comply with the direction not to enter, work or provide a service at a construction site if unvaccinated and to provide evidence to a site representative of their vaccination status. You are required to keep records (including copies of the evidence of vaccination) and ensure unvaccinated workers are not permitted to work or provide a service on any of CLPM’s sites.
Our sites will be requesting proof of vaccination certification and will be entitled to turn workers away from the site. We trust you will understand, these are not merely rules of our own making. It is an offence for a person to fail, without reasonable excuse, to comply with any of the Directions and punishable by a fine of up to $20,000 for individuals and $100,000 for bodies corporate.
Unfortunately, in the event of a non-compliance with this direction, CLPM would have no alternative but to consider further action and potentially the removal of works.
