Client
The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder contracted CLPM to conserve and restore the Rotunda heritage public amenity prominently located in Loopline Park in Boulder as an important icon marking the City’s intention to preserve the Burt Street Heritage Precinct.
Scope
Deconstruct and stockpile all timber and cast iron elements for restoration and re-use. Install new barrel rolled galvanised roof to existing structure curved profile.
Project value: $121,000
Completed: June 2013
Outcome
CLPM’s work-culture and expertise in Heritage carpentry was called upon to enable maximised opportunity for the conservation of deteriorated original timber fabric within a reconstructed building. Joinery techniques were employed to retain authenticity with design intentions consistent with those of the period of original construction.
Original material and design intentions were conserved and the structure returned to its former glory compliments of the selected Heritage colour scheme. The project was completed on time and on budget.
